Bought this one conveyable outside forcefully drive to back up my aperture photo library on my mac pro. The reason i wanted a conveyable hdd was to keep a back up of my photo library off-site by doing a back up once a week.mounting to a mac running os x 10.5.8 (leopard) was no problem and the drive was immediately detected and shown as toshiba. The box states Toshiba 640 GB HDDR640E04XR compatible with os x 10.4 and windows xp/vista and will seemingly work with a windows 7 and a linux os. The usb 2.0 interface is fast and the drive itself does not require outside ability as it comes from the usb interface. The usb 2.0 cable is included with this one hdd, although its short. When accessing the drive for read/write there is a blue led which indicates activity. The well-mannered thing is that this one drive doesn’t seem to grow hot and aesthetically is quite appealing in its blue color. Fit and finish is superb as well.
